To help learners practice with counting and number value, try this counting cubes partner activity. Pairs sit back-to-back, with Partner A holding a stick of ten counting cubes. Partner A breaks the stick into two parts, handing one part to Partner B, who then figures out how many cubes Partner A has. Two optional worksheets help learners visualize what they are processing, and assessment considerations cover a variety of skill levels to watch for.
