On just one page, fourth graders can view and track their progress with the Common Core writing standards. The language of the standards has been modified slightly to make it more accessible to kids, but it will still be best to go over the standards as a class.
- At the end of each unit, have individuals check off the skills they mastered
- Keep a class version and refer to the checklist at the beginning and end of each unit to show kids what they've learned and to foster reflection
- Review the standards at the end of the school year and ask learners to come up with examples of something they have done that fits each point on the list
