Don't restrain numbers to a page; they're all around us! Young mathematicians explore number forms, uses, attributes, and values through a PowerPoint presentation and several essential questions. Because you can choose different values as the number of the day, you could work through parts or all of this presentation on a daily basis with your class. They interact with the slides (possibly in a math journal) by recording place values, writing it in different forms, translating it to time and temperature, skip counting, adding and subtracting from it, and finally writing a number story. The linked video isn't particularly useful, but may be an entertaining review.
