Japanese Wood Block Prints

Students identify the four islands of Japan and the ancient history of Japan to discover when woodblock printmaking was developed. They complete the steps to create a woodblock print and demonstrate reverse imaging when printing. Finally, students create three cardboard blocks to make their prints from and then, mount their prints on cardboard blocks.
