"Jim the Tin Man"

Students study the short vowel phoneme, /i/ by watching how the mouth moves when it makes the sound, and examine how to write the letter. Next they work with a tongue twister, listening for the sound, and raising a hand when they hear it. Finally, they read, "Jim the Tin Man," discuss the pictures, and point to words on the pages that have /i/ sound.
