Lake Bonneville Flood Swiss Valley Area

High schoolers examine a map of the Lake Bonneville Flood Swiss Valley Area to locate the Swiss Valley Point Bar and the cut bank that is associated with it. They explain the fluvial process that happens when point bars and cut banks are formed. They calculate the size of the Swiss Valley Point Bar and the height of the ban. Using boulder size data, they determine the water velocity over the point bar.

My students have had many opportunities to extend their learning by engaging in extra practice activities that I found through Lesson Planet. It's much easier to differentiate instruction because I can pull together various levels of the same skill. Thanks for making my life a little less hectic.
