Leaf Glitter Art

Get your primary graders outside to explore autumn or any time you have leaves on the ground. First they collect various-colored leaves and sort them into baggies by color. After they dry for a couple of days, have the kids crumple them up into tiny bits and use them to add color to their fall artwork, or as mosaic to create a by gluing them on paper like you would standard glitter. Integrate science by learning about leaf parts and examining leaves under a microscope immediately after they're picked and later when they're dry.
