Legacies of Colonialism

Young scholars explore the effects of colonialism in Africa. For this World History lesson, students read the Legacy of Colonialism and take a stance on Colonialism to write a letter to the editor. They are paired with a same-ability partner who writes a letter with an opposing view.  These letters are used to discuss the concept and history of Colonialism.

Lesson Planet has helped me with my lesson plans as a student teacher. There are so many creative lesson plans available which is a huge help to someone like me who has very little experience at this point in time and I am in need of ideas and activities to help get me started in the classroom.
