Where does our food come from? Sure, it comes from plants and animals, but how far does our food travel to get to us and what impact does that have on the environment? What types of processing does food go through and what does that entail? Through examining food maps, learners begin to understand the complexity behind the food chain as it exists today. To synthesize what they've learned, the kids interview community members to determine what a local food map may look like.
