Plants With A Personality
Young scholars read the story, "Claire Plays Basketball," and read the poem from the Song of Hiawatha. They list connections that Claire makes between the corn plants and her own body. Students choose a creative project to complete from inventing a song or dance, personifying a corn plant, writing a poem or story, creating a cartoon character or writing an imaginative story. This is one of a series of lessons from the National Corn Growers Association.
