Localizing News for School Newspaper

Model for your novice journalists how to localize news stories for the school paper.  Each class member selects a story from a newspaper to be localized, and then shares the story with a group. Group members contribute their ideas for how the story could be localized, why readers should care about the story, and expert sources that could be accessed. Reporters then draft a localized version of their story.

Arin C.
It is very easy to quickly search a topic and get ideas from some of the lesson plans. For my student teaching seminar, we were required to share a web site that we have found helpful with the class. My professors, new and veteran teachers alike were all amazed by the resources provided by Lesson Planet and the ease in which they were obtained.
