Coins are used to help young mathematicians practice graphing, counting objects, skip counting by 5’s and 10’s, and money valuation. After sorting the like coins together into separate groups, children complete the attached Coin Graph by coloring in the correct column a square for each coin of a particular type. Paper coins could be used for a whole-class exercise.
