Mathematical Models of Inquiry

Tenth graders use mathematical models to predict and analyze data generated by student investigations. Students review basic descriptive statistics and probability using an exploration of a tree trunk diameter vs. circumference to derive a mathematical relationship. Students do a literature search to find other examples of mathematical models in scientific research. Students carry out their own inquiry projects using mathematical models and statistical data analysis.

Lesson Planet is helpful. At first I had difficulty understanding the how to and what. Now it seems that Lesson Planet understands using my attempts to predict what my interests are. Thank you Lesson Planet.
