In this integer addition instructional activity, 6th graders review three steps to solve integer addition equations. Students then write the addition expressions shown by the circles and squares and then solve the equation. Students then draw counters or models to help them find the sum of the next set of integer addition problems. Students then use models to find the final set of equations and compare the answers.
