Multi-Step Problems

In this multi-step problem instructional activity, 6th graders solve and complete 9 different problems that include estimating jelly beans in a jar. First, they determine the average number of jelly beans per layer by using the top and bottom layers. Then, students estimate the number of layers in the jar and multiply the average number by the estimated number of layers.
