Multiple Reflection Symmetries

Using the Zome Modeling System along with some natural objects, young geometers investigate reflection symmetry on more than one axis. Using student-built models, learners study objects found in nature, mirrors, squares, rectangles, and equilateral polygons such as triangles, pentagons, and hexagons for their properties of 3-fold and 5-fold symmetry. Tip: This lesson can be modified to fit younger learners who might be first encountering the concepts of symmetry and reflection.

When plans are needed, and time is short, I begin here for help from my colleagues. The framework of lessons, excellent worksheets, and multimedia presentations has proved extremely helpful.
