Music: Nutty Notes

Students use peanuts in their shells to represent quarter and eighth note rhythm patterns. They envision the nut shell as one beat, or a quarter note, that can then be divided into micro notes , or eighth notes. Once students have played the rhythm represented by the nuts, they can eat them.

Randi L.
Lesson Planet has changed my whole teaching style. I am able to customize my lesson plans for relevance not by what is already available. I like the relevance to issues facing today's youth.
