Instructional Ideas

  • Assign these exercises for a few days of homework or as starters
Classroom Considerations

  • Note that one of the additional worksheets in the materials doesn't have sentences, but is instead a list of nouns; pupils identify which are people, places, and things, by circling the words with the same colors
  • Each learner will need to have access to red, blue, and black pens or colored pencils
Pros

  • See the materials tab for two additional worksheets with a similar task
  • Requires learners to not only identify each noun but also indicate why it is a noun
Cons

  • Answer keys are not provided
  • There is a typo in the title of the resource; it says Place of Thing instead of Place or Thing, and you may wish to white this out and write or to avoid confusion
