NUMB3RS Activity: Meltdown

Students investigate the relationship between the radius and area of circles that change size over time. They identify and interpret the puddle at a crime scene, that it is certain to be irregularly shaped and the floor would be neither smooth nor level. This raises several questions about the mathematics of true reality, as well as the physical chemistry involved.

I work with students that range from year 1 to year 12, approx 30 with various Special Needs and ESL. Because of the range in year levels and subjects covered it is impossible to find time to make my own resources for many of the lessons. Lesson Planet has become a reliable source to gain information and ideas.
