NUMB3RS Activity: No Place Left to Hide

Students explore pursuit evasion.  In this secondary mathematics lesson, students investigate the minimum number of searchers, the search number, necessary to trap a fugitive.  The activity encourages students to find patterns in the properties of graphs that affect the search number.  The lesson extension provides students an opportunity to form a proof of the algorithm for each type of graph.
