Number System Properties

Ninth graders listen as the teacher identifies and defines four math properties. They use manipulatives (small and large rocks) to experience non-traditional number systems. They use the rocks and pebbles to demonstrate the properties. This lesson contains a mini lesson for use with students to help them understand the meanings of "justify" and "counter-example."
