Opinions and Supporting Facts: Writing Support

Young orators use a graphic organizer to uncover the structure of a persuasive argument. After reading a short paragraph, class members use the learning exercise to identify the opinion and supporting facts offered in the paragraph.  They then use the graphic to organize their opinion and support for a persuasive speech. The learning exercise could be used in the pre-writing stage for any piece of persuasive writing.
