Order of Operations and Memory Using a Calculator

In this order of operations and memory instructional activity, 5th graders will use a calculator to solve 6 addition problems in which one addend is a whole number and the other addend is a fraction. Students must first convert the fraction to a decimal before adding the whole number. In the last 5 problems student will add 2 mixed fractions using the memory function on their calculator.
