Instructional Ideas
- Reserve the computer lab so that your class can practice navigating an online test and ask questions about this environment
- When students complete the practice test, set aside some time to go through the answers and discuss test-taking strategies
Classroom Considerations
- Depending on your printing capabilities, you might find it difficult to print the large-print version of the assessment
- Some of the questions appear in a slightly different format in the online version; rather than choose from multiple choice options, test-takers must click and/or drag passages
- After completing the online assessment, learners can see their scores, but not the answers, and share with a teacher
Pros
- Comes with an answer key as well as an online interactive version of the same assessment (with answers as well) and a rubric to help you grade the essay questions
- The answer keys pair each question with standards so that you can use data to address particular Common Core standards in your class
Cons
- None
