Students generate adjectives used to describe the main character (a pirate) after listening to Mem Fox's Tough Boris. In this adjective lesson, students help the teacher create a cluster/web in which the adjectives contributed by the students surround the word "pirate". The students are encouraged to imagine how Boris (the pirate) might look to the stow-away on the ship, and write a descriptive paragraph from this stow-away's point of view.
