Practice persuasive writing and speeches with this lesson plan. Middle schoolers brainstorm the components of presentations by watching videos of sample speeches (if available), and ways the people delivering the speeches demonstrate correct components. The class creates a rubric for scoring speeches. They then prepare persuasive presentations after completing research and finding strong evidence. As students present their speeches, they are scored with the class rubric.
