Introduce your fourth, fifth, or sixth graders to the basic types of figurative language with this presentation. Similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration, and onomatopoeia are defined, and examples are provided for each. What's not included here is a practice opportunity to assess your learners. Open the PowerPoint and add a few slides of your own to help determine your class's understanding of the new terms.
