Read with Speed!

Young scholars participate in repeated reading of the same passage in order to increase their reading fluency and expression. After reviewing the cross checking and cover-up decoding strategies, they listen as the teacher models both fluent and non-fluent reading. Working with a partner they complete repeated readings while their partner notes if they improve their fluency. As an assessment, they read for the teacher as who notes the number of words read correctly in one minute.
