Recasting Language through Found Poetry

Students read and create examples of found poetry. In this poetry lesson plan, students are introduced to an example of a found poem. Next, students analyze a piece of prose, marking 10-20 of their favorite words and phrases. Students divide these words or phrases, rearrange and then synthesize them to create a found poem based on the text.
