Religious Symbols

Learners read an article about the removal of Christmas trees from the Seattle airport. As a class, they brainstorm the definition of a public place and put the First Amendment into their own words. In groups, they discuss whether or not the government should be allowed to put any religious symbols into public places. They role-play the role of a member of the airport commission and how they would respond to the situation in the article.

It is so helpful to have so many resources on one website. Sources that used to take hours of hunting on line now take little time to locate. In the event of a change of plans or if I need sub plans for the day, my work is done.
