Instructional Ideas

  • Revisit the lesson after long breaks or when manners are not up to par
  • Create a list of the manners addressed and send them home to parents and guardians so they can reinforce the rules outside of school 
  • Encourage pupils to observe tehir peers and announce when they see good manners; reward class members as you see fit 
Classroom Considerations

  • Borrow a copy from the library, or download onto a personal learning device, the story The Berenstain Bears Forget Their Manners by Stan and Jan Berenstain
  • To better stave off germs, teach pupils to cough and sneeze in their elbow rather than their hands
