Shhh! Quiet Down!

Students study the /sh/ digraph through the use of Elkonin boxes and manipulative letters. They also read the Dr. Seuss book, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. As the teachers catches word fish from a fish bowl, they clap their hands as they hear the /sh/ sounds. Finally, they make words with their Elkonin boxes and read a page of the Dr. Seuss book to the teacher.

Lesson Planet helps me find fantastic ideas to spin off of and approach with my alternative education high school students. They can be difficult to motivate and sometimes when I'm just out of ideas- this site gives me just what I need to add to motivate them!
