Silenced Songbirds

Learners investigate the numbers of endangered birds in an area.  In this middle school mathematics lesson, students are provided with information on the Golden-cheeked Warbler and investigate the amount of space the birds need to flourish.  Learners mark a map showing where the birds might live and calculate the number of square miles and acres on their map and the number of birds that might live in that area.
