Young scholars discuss a newspaper article about the presidential veto of a spending bill for the Iraq War. Younger students write stories about helping others and decide if people who are not friends can work together for a common good. Older young scholars debate the president's veto. In groups, they develop responses to the democrats sending the spending bill to Bush exactly four years after he declared the end to major hostilities.
