Fourth graders examine an article about Emma Tillman, who died at the age of 114. Younger students consider life prior to the automobile and draw pictures of modes of travel from that era, or they create skits demonstrating how people used to travel. Older students create written discussions between Tillman and her grandfather expressing the differences between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
