Spanish-American War for Cuba's Independence

Geographical context is key to understanding the United States' role in the Cuban revolution. As they study the Spanish-American War, historians analyze a map of Cuba, determining its approximate distance from Key West. Then, they research information about Cuba's culture and geography. Finally, pupils label cities pertinent to the military conflict and complete FCAT questions. The questions are not included or linked, and there are no maps to work with.

Lesson Planet has helped me differentiate my classroom as needed. I always find it easy to adapt work for struggling learners but find it more difficult to adapt work for higher level learners. By using lesson planet I get great ideas to create fun, challenging work for my higher level learners.
