State-shaped Cookies

Reinforce learning about US geography with this tasty project. Have your kids cut out state-shaped sugar cookies by laying patterns on top of dough and cutting them out with a table knife. Integrate math by working with fractions and measurements for the cookie recipe. You could also have students find others with cookies from the same region or put them all together to form a whole map of the US! Have each student present their state and the name and location of the capital.
