This Sticky Notes and Fractions lesson plan also includes:
Here is a hands-on activity using sticky notes that is designed to help young mathematicians figure out fractions. Use some 3"x 3" sticky notes to cover the width of a sheet of paper. One of the sticky notes will hang over the edge. Cut it off. Now make measurements and fraction calculations of the sticky notes on the sheet of paper and of the cut-off piece. Extension idea: Give students a couple of different sizes of paper and have them use the sticky notes to do some fraction calculations.
