Super Tanker

Students observe a transparency of graph paper placed on the overhead. On top of the graph, a Petri dish containing water is placed. They then observe (1 ml.) of dark oil onto the surface of the water. Students estimate the number of squares covered by the oil and calculate the area polluted per volume of oil spilled.
