Teaching the Mammoth Mystery

Students research the causes of the extinction of Pleistocene mammals.  In this Pleistocene mammals activity, students read essays to understand the Pleistocene epoch. Students write an essay about the personal impact of this epoch. 

Students do research to discover the importance of water in the world and its effect upon our daily lives. They will also appreciate the beauty of water and how it is so adaptable within nature.

Students use a website to research and summarize findings on the earliest mammoth found east of the Mississippi River. They write a paragraph, make an outline and join key words into meaningful sentences to summarize their research.

Third graders demonstrate the position of the Earth, Moon, and Sun in a solar and lunar eclipse. They list uses for manmade satellites and write a description of how a satellite would be use.
