Tell Tales: Reconstructing A Personal Tell
A two-week exploration of archaeology is here for you. In an exquisite lesson, sixth graders spend many days studying how archaeologists learn about ancient cultures by studying their artifacts. They watch streamed video, and PowerPoint presentations. Then, each pupil is expected to do a "personal archaeological excavation," by finding and labeling artifacts from their homes. Terrific worksheets that support the teaching ideas are embedded in the plan.
