The Big Winner

Eighth graders examine the economics of the California Gold Rush Era using factual and fictional biographies. Working in groups, a biographical sketch is analyzed in order to determine if their individual became rich or not, how or what prevented them, and how scarcity impacted the choices made by their individual. Presentations on learned information is shared with the rest of the class.
