The Bigger, the Better?

High schoolers find the surface area and volume of cells.  For this surface area and volume of cells lesson, students find the volume and surface area of different shape cell models.  High schoolers discuss which cells', spherical or cubic, volume and surface area increased at faster rate as the cell's size increased.  Students make a scatter plot comparing the area and volume of the spherical cells to the cubic cells.
