The Chattanooga Choo-Choo

Students participate in literacy activities aimed at decoding, writing, and identifying the /ch/ digraph. They practice saying the "ch" sound after the teacher models it, and repeat tongue twisters that contain the sound. Next they listen to a teacher read aloud of " Pardon Me, Is that the Chattanooga Choo-Choo?" and listen to Glenn Miller's song, "Chattanooga Choo-Choo." Finally, they sing a long with the song.

The new resource preview feature is awesome! It is extremely easy to both find materials and align them with the Common Core Standards. I use those a lot since they are not state-specific, and my lessons must meet the needs of students from different states as well as other countries. You will help me save a lot of planning time!
