The Color of Love

Students generate words and phrases to represent a "red" or "blue" way to love someone after listening to the book I Love You the Purplest by Barbara M. Joosse. In this color words lesson, the teacher leads a discussion of the title meaning and invites the students to add their own ideas to each list. Students form small groups to read authentic models of color poems based on this book and then write their own color poems.
