The Colorful Desert

Students express what they see through sentences. In this lesson about describing words, students discuss the Nevada Desert and read the book The Deep Blue Sea a Book of Colors, by Audrey Wood, and explore colors. Students practice writing a sentence using a color to better describe an object or an animal. The class will put together a book with five sentences and a picture to go with each sentence.
