The Conflicting Legacy of Alfred Nobel: Dynamite and the Peace Prize

Students work in small groups to research one of the following topics: a short biography of Alfred Nobel, a short history of dynomite, Nobel's contributions to science generally, and Nobel's ideas on war and peace. They then present their findings selecting the manner of presentation such as a written report, a PowerPoint presentation, or an oral report and create a Peace Hall of Fame.
