Students read an article about the importance of the Presidential candidates having courage. In groups, they examine the decision of John Kennedy to introduce the Civil Rights legislation and how much courage it took to do so. They write a paper showing how the United States might have been different if it would have not been passed. To end the lesson, they identify the ways technology has changed the office of the President.
