The Energy of Motion-A river Study

Students investigate coastal erosion.  In this sixth through ninth grade science/mathematics instructional activity, students conduct an experiment that simulates sediment carried by the Mississippi River.  Students use ramps and a ball to represent the water and collect data on velocity.  Students find the kinetic energy of the bass as it rolls down the ramp.

Joanne T.
As a graduate teacher I don't have a lot of resources to use in the classroom, Lesson Planet gives me ideas and resources to build up my teaching skills and to help me make sure I am teaching the students the correct information - the first time.
