Twelfth graders segment information within small groups that include: 1. Kinds of slavery 2. Personal accounts of slaves 3. Salve owners and traders motivation 4. Activists and Governments response against slavery. Students pretend to be a slave for a day and write a journal/letter reflecting on the rights of US citizens that they are now deprived of. The rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
